How does it work?
Plasma Pen is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment that uses electrical energy to ionise the oxygen & nitrogen in the air, forming the element plasma through a small electrical arc.
Plasma is one of the states of matter and it is generated by our hand-held device that vaporises liquid in the skin at the point of contact. The area around that point of contact tightens and shrinks. It also removes damaged epidermal cells and stimulates the fibroblasts in your skin to produce new collagen.
How does it tighten the skin?
The Plasma Pen causes a ‘micro trauma’ to the surface skin tissue which immediately contract and tighten, this creates an instant lift and dramatic tightening of the surrounding skin. The thermal disruption causes the upper skin layer to rejuvenated as old cells shed and they are replaced by fresh new cells resulting in collagen and elastin production.
This strengthens, plumps, inflates and lifts the structure of the skin over a sustained period of time. This helps to re-shape, re-build and strengthen the scaffolding within the dermis to give it renewed elasticity and flexibility. The treatment helps to activate and release important proteins in the skin encourage tissue regeneration and repair.

What can you expect during treatment?
Treatment is performed by a Qualified Cosmetic Nurse with an Academy certificate in Plasma Pen training.
We provide a topical anaesthetic /numbing cream prior to your treatment for your comfort.
The procedure takes approximately 40 minutes depending on the area being treated
You will be given aftercare instructions after your treatment
Downtime
You are likely to experience some minor swelling and redness in the first few days after treatment. The treated area will be covered with visible, small brown dots which will shed naturally in 7 days.

The cost depends on the area being treated and can range anywhere from $250-$2000 depending on the area being treated. See our pice list page.
How long does the treatment last?
You will see immediate results during the treatment which will continue to improve over the next 12 weeks. Usually one treatment is required to achieve desired results although this may vary from client to client. Once desired results are achieved, treatment is permanent although you may get future touch ups.
Who is a Candidate?
Both men and women with good skin integrity and without the following contraindications.
Pregnant/breastfeeding
Metal plates , pins or other implants
Cardio-vascular deficiencies including severe uncontrolled blood pressure
Pacemaker or any other medical device with an electrical current
Current or recent hemorrhage
Malignancy and chemotherapy in the past 3 years.
If you are susceptible to hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation
If you suffer from auto-immune disease or other illnesses which affect the immune system
