Dermal Filler

Fillers counteract the aging process by adding fullness.

Dermal fillers are used to rejuvenate an ageing face. As you age, your face loses a significant amount of fat and collagen, elastin production slows and as a result, the youthful, round appearance of your face starts to disappear. When used on the face, fillers do what their name implies: they plump up surface depressions, furrows, and wrinkles

It is normal to see a reduction in fullness in certain areas of the face leading to a less oval and upside-down triangle-shaped face. Our objective is to add fullness and to slightly accentuate these area. When done safely and properly, beautiful facial harmony and symmetry can be obtained.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Cosmetic dermal fillers used at Bonny Skin Studio are made up of a soft injectable gel that is biodegradable, non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in all living organisms and provides volume and fullness to the skin. Once injected into treatment areas, it binds with water then expands, resulting in more volume and less sagging or wrinkling. The gel is tissue-friendly and long-lasting, though not permanent, and add contour to the face.

How Do Dermal Fillers Compare to Anti-wrinkle Injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections and cosmetic dermal fillers are all categorized as wrinkle-reducers. However, their action in dermal tissue is completely different. Anti-wrinkle injections reduce the movement of the muscle in the face, and commonly are used in the uppermost areas of the face. Cosmetic dermal fillers, on the other hand, adhere to water molecules in the subcutaneous tissue beneath the epidermis to plump superficial layers of the skin.

Can Dermal Fillers Be Dissolved If I Don’t Like the Results?

Dermal filler treatment with a hyaluronic acid base allows you to dissolve the filler if you are not completely satisfied with your results. Treatment to dissolve hyaluronic acid dermal fillers involves injections of an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

Dermal Fillers can be injected into the lips in a variety of ways to improve the size and shape of the lips.

Lip augmentation creates a fuller, well-defined and voluptuous lips.

As we age, the lips tend to flatten and lose their definition, therefore filler injected into the lips are suitable if your lips that are beginning to lose volume and show vertical lines and lines around the mouth

Full cheeks are a symbol of youth. One of the most effective ways to boost cheek volume is with Cosmetic Dermal Fillers, which can instantly add natural-looking dimension.

A reduction in facial fullness is a part of getting older. As we age, we lose and redistribute fat padding. Facial bones also lose volume, and as elastin declines, skin laxity and sagging increases. All these things together can cause some structural and result in a droopier and more hollowed face.

Dermal Filler Post Procedure Care

After having dermal fillers, you are most likely to experience swelling and the swelling will be at its maximum the day after their treatment. Here are some steps you can take to reduce the extent of your swelling and ensure optimum results:

Dos:

·      Ease any swelling and bruising by applying a cold compress to the treatment area immediately after the procedure.

·      The day after your procedure, use a warm compress to increase circulation and encourage the swelling to subside.

·      Keep your head elevated as much as possible for the first 24 hours after your procedure.

·      Sleep on your back. Sleeping on your face can displace the filler and make it uneven.

·      Cleanse and apply makeup to your face using light, gentle motions to avoid displacing the filler.

·      significant swelling may last up to 4 days and residual swelling up to 2 weeks.

Don’ts:

·      Don’t engage in excessive or strenuous exercise for one to two days following your treatment. Physical activity increases blood flow to the skin and can exacerbate bruising and swelling.

·      Don’t take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, as this may thin your blood and cause bruising. If you are experiencing pain after the procedure, you may take paracetamol.

·      Don’t massage the treatment area after the procedure, even though it may be sore. This may displace the filler and affect your results.

·      Don’t drink alcohol for twelve hours after your treatment. This will help prevent any unwanted swelling and bruising.

·      Don’t make excessive facial movements for the first few days after the procedure while your filler settles.
