PDO Threads
Collagen stimulating treatment that gives the skin a firm, tight appearance and reduces fine lines and wrinkles
PDO Threads are sutures that are made from a biocompatible material called Polydioxanone (PDO). The Threads become a support structure for your face allowing natural collagen production to take place. This gives the skin a firm, tight appearance and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The Threads will take 2-3 months to take full effect but results are long lasting.

When will I see results from my treatment?
You will begin to see results in 6 weeks, which will continue to improve over the next 2 to 6 months as new collagen is produced. Although the threads will slowly dissolve, you will continue to see the treatment benefits for up to 12 months.
How long does the treatment take?
The actual treatment time will vary based on the size of your treatment area. A treatment can take between 40 to 60 minutes, which allows for 20mins for numbing the area first.
Is the procedure painful?
PDO Threads starts with numbing cream and injecting a numbing solution at the treatment site. This ensures you are comfortable during your treatment and should experience minimal pain. Some tenderness may be experienced a first few hours following the treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Some swelling and bruising can be expected in this procedure. This usually resolves within a few days to weeks depending on the patient.
What is the PDO material?
PDO is a synthetic polymer (a type of sugar molecule) that is colorless and crystalline. It’s been used in the medical and pharmaceutical industry for many years because its extremely safe to use in the body. This material has excellent biocompatibility, it is biodegradable and doesn’t create scar tissue.
Can anyone have PDO Threads?
Ideal candidates are aged between 25 and 65. It can be done as a treatment for a suitably volumised patient who needs tightening or skin improvement, or as a preventive procedure to prevent the face from sagging. PDO threads are unsuitable for patients with bleeding disorders, some auto-immune diseases and uncontrolled diabetes.
How much does it cost?
We don’t charge per area, we charge per thread. Therefore the cost is individual depending on which area you want treated, your budget and the outcome you want to achieve.
