What is Plasma Pen?
This non-surgical skin tightening treatment uses electrical energy to ionise the oxygen and nitrogen in the air to form plasma. When the plasma touches the skin, it vaporises any liquid and instantly tightens and shrinks the targeted area. This process removes damaged epidermal cells and stimulates fibroblasts in your skin to produce new collagen and elastin.

What’s the difference between ablative and non-ablative plasma pen treatments?
During an ablative treatment, your skin will receive micro-injuries from the plasma pen to tighten and lift the skin and encourage renewed collagen and elastin production. Our non-ablative treatment stimulates fibroblast activity using electroplates to deliver a fractional lifting facial without damaging the skin’s surface.
How does the plasma pen tighten the skin?
The plasma pen causes a ‘micro-trauma’ to the surface skin tissue which immediately contracts and tightens for an instant lift. The thermal disruption also triggers rejuvenation in the upper skin layer as old cells are shed and replaced by fresh new cells.
What should I expect during an ablative plasma pen treatment?
Your treatment will be performed by a qualified cosmetic nurse trained and certified in using a plasma pen. Our nurse will apply a topical anaesthetic/numbing cream to the treatment area to ensure your comfort before starting. You will also receive detailed aftercare instructions for the best possible result.
When should I see results from a plasma pen?
You should see immediate results during the treatment, with improvement continuing over the next 12 weeks.
How often will I need plasma pen treatment?
This varies from client to client. Usually, only one treatment is required to achieve the desired result which is often permanent. However, future touch-ups may be needed, depending on your skin.
What should I expect following my plasma pen treatment?
You may experience minor swelling and redness in the first few days following treatment. You will also notice visible small brown dots in the treated area. These should quickly heal and resolve within 7 days.
What skin concerns benefit from plasma pen treatment?
Plasma pens improve the look of lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, loose and excess skin, jowls, skin tags and stretch marks. It also plumps and tightens skin for an instant lift.
How long does a plasma peel treatment take?

Who should avoid plasma pen treatment?
This treatment is safe, but you should avoid or postpone treatment if you:
are pregnant or breastfeeding
have metal plates, pins or other implants
have cardiovascular deficiencies, including severe uncontrolled blood pressure
have a pacemaker or any other medical device with an electrical current
have experienced a current or recent haemorrhage
have had cancer or chemotherapy in the past 3 years
are susceptible to hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation
suffer from auto-immune disease or other illnesses which affect the immune system.

Plasma Pen AFTERCARE
Immediately after treatment
You’re likely to experience minor swelling and redness around the affected area. There will also be visible marks where the skin has been treated. Avoid touching the area as this can introduce dirt, bacteria or other contaminants.
1-3 days after treatment
Your skin may feel rough and dry as the micro-traumas heal. Cleanse your skin in the morning and evening and follow up with a bland moisturiser. Apply sunscreen regularly and avoid harsh skincare products that irritate your skin.
One-week post-treatment
By now you’ll be enjoying the full effects of your treatment and can recommence your normal skin routine. This is the perfect time to introduce a cosmeceutical skincare product to support skin healing and regeneration. Just remember to use sunscreen to protect your skin.
