From combating the signs of ageing to minimising the impact of acne, we can tailor chemical peels to suit your needs.

What are Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels harness different peeling agents, such as salicylic acid, to remove the top layer of skin, including dead and dehydrated cells. This reveals a fresh complexion and encourages new cell growth. This powerful exfoliation treatment accelerates the skinโ€™s natural processes to promote a healthier and younger-looking appearance.

Bonny Skin Studio offers three different chemical peels in our Geelong clinic:

AHA: Alpha Hydroxy Acid peels loosen and exfoliate the superficial top layer of the skin while stimulating collagen. Different concentrations are used in our custom treatments to suit your skin. Regular peels every 2-4 weeks are advised to maintain your new glow.

BHA: Beta Hydroxy Acid peels are lipid-based and work well on oily skin. Harnessing the anti-inflammatory properties of salicylic acid, these peels help control oil production, reduce redness and minimise irritation in acne-prone and congested skin.

Jessnerโ€™s Peel: Combining mild peeling agents, this peel helps reduce the appearance of discolouration and environmental damage caused by the sun and pollutants. Suitable for all skin, this peel soothes and rejuvenates while reducing oil production for clearer skin.

Chemical Peels AFTERCARE

Immediately after treatment
Youโ€™ll experience some redness and feel like your face is sunburnt but this should resolve after a few days. We recommend you avoid harsh products and irritants and use a gentle moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated during healing.

1-3 days after treatment
The top layer of your skin will begin peeling away, revealing the new layer of skin underneath. Continue using mild skin products, avoid intense sources of heat and avoid direct sun exposure as your skin heals.

One-week post-treatment
By now youโ€™ll be enjoying the full effects of your treatment and can recommence your normal skin routine. This is the perfect time to introduce a cosmeceutical skincare product to support skin healing and regeneration. Just remember to use sunscreen to protect your skin.
